They're getting it done. THEY ARE GETTING IT DONE. The social workers, CASA and case manager are rock stars. This case, particularly our boy's full medical history - including that of his birth parents, has come together in the last few days. My insane, angry phone calls might have had a little to do with it but I owe it all to God. He wants our boy adopted on Valentines Day just as badly as we do. He wants to redeem this day for my family and make it all about our boy and how much he is loved.
I wept today when I received photos of our boy at birth. We got him when he was 5 months old and only 11 pounds. But seeing them just struck a chord. I push those five months out of my head because I assume that they were awful. But, his birth mother told our CASA that she loves him and never neglected him and she wanted us to know that. She said she just didn't know what to do. Here's the greatest part: I have photos of her and I have her email address and she wants to hear from us. Perhaps we will have some kind of unconventional open communication agreement afterall. Perhaps my son will know a little bit more about where he came from.
6 days ago they said it was impossible and today that very same adoption social worker said: "I am 100% confident that this will happen on Valentines Day!" ... With God all things are possible. Never give up hope.
